About
A network built around what you actually need this month.
Finding the right person can be hard when you are building on your own. Owner-operators, electricians, plumbers and contractors, bookkeepers and accountants, freelancers and consultants, photographers, developers, marketers, manufacturers and suppliers all hit the same wall: the person who has already solved the problem in front of them is one introduction away, and there is nowhere to ask. First 500K exists to close that gap. Being small shouldn't mean being alone.
The shape is always the same: a need meets an offer, a person or business meets a match, a match becomes an introduction and a conversation, and that becomes a job, a trade, a project or an opportunity with an outcome. You can take part as a person without creating a business, registering a corporation or stating any revenue. Revenue stage is matching context only, and businesses past their first $500K stay on as alumni, buyers, mentors and partners.
Live today: member profiles, people discovery, a shareable profile card, mutual introductions and private text conversations, alongside business profiles, needs and offers, matching, opportunities and events. Project rooms, event check-in and funding discovery are planned next and are not live yet.
Not a directory
A listing is static. First 500K works from live, structured needs and offers so a match means someone can act today.
Not a feed
There is nothing to scroll for its own sake. The core question is simply: what do you need right now? And what can you offer?
Not only startups
Trades, local services and everyday professional work count as much as tech. Opportunities are structured records with eligibility and deadlines — never a promise of funding.
How matching works
Matching is deterministic and explainable. It compares your live needs to other members' live offers, then adds context: province, city, industry, shared working language, verification state and current availability. Every result shows the reasons behind it, and you can tell us when a match was wrong.
No opaque scoring, no invented signals, and no sensitive personal attributes.
Verification, stated honestly
- Unverified
- No ownership claim has been submitted. Treat details as self-published.
- Self-attested
- The owner has attested that this is a Canadian-owned business. First 500K has not independently confirmed it, and this is not a government verification.
- Review pending
- Evidence has been submitted and is waiting on manual review by First 500K.
- Verified by First 500K
- A First 500K reviewer checked the submitted evidence of Canadian ownership. This is not a government designation.
- Not verified
- A review was completed and the submitted evidence was not accepted.
Graduating past $500K is the point
Crossing $500,000 in annual revenue does not remove you from the network. It moves you into alumni standing, where you can buy from, mentor, refer and partner with the businesses coming up behind you. Growth is the success metric — not retention of people who stayed small.
